Soundbites: 1st July 2005

Ermolenko
McAllan

"I never worried that I'd be dropped, how do you replace me? My confidence never dropped even during that bad spell. Nobody was more disapointed than me in the lack of performances but I always knew it was only a hiccup. It just took a while to sort out my bikes, which were underperforming. At first we thought it was bad fuel but after changing two or three things we finally got the problem sorted."
Sam Ermolenko

"The Workington match gives us the chance of a bonus point and we will certainly be going all out to win, but we know that is easier said than done. Despite all of their injuries, Workington are still a good side and we will need to be at our best if we are going to beat them."
Tim Stone looks forward to Newport's home meeting on Sunday

"I'm lost for words about Phil Morris's form at the moment - I simply don't know what to say."
George English after 'Wizzer' posted two ducks in a week

"I could have ridden in that race if it had been necessary. I had agreed with the team manager, Ian Thomas, that I wouldn't ride in it unless I had to. Fortunately, the injury wasn't as bad as I'd feared when it happened."
Jason Crump - He missed heat 15 on Wednesday but was surprised to be riding at all

"We have got to win three or four times away from home in the second half of the season to get to where we want to be. We might have got off the mark at Swindon if Mikael Max had not been taken ill before the meeting, but that doesn't matter now. We have set our targets and, like any team, we make a special effort when we think we've got a good chance of winning,"
Wolves' boss Peter Adams

"He definitely took me out and left me no room on the outside. I was gutted for Rusty. We were both up for it and we had a good chance of winning."
Ross Brady on his pairs tangle with Seemond Stephens that left him with a broken ankle

"We know we are a good team. Everyone is helping each other in the pits and the team isn't the one that started the season, it is better. I think we can win home or away now because the team spirit is so high."
Antonio Lindback of Poole

"People pay their money every week so they are entitled to have their opinions but some of the stuff in the last two weeks which has been directed at riders was out of order and well over the top. I'm there to be slagged off when necessary because I put the team together. It isn't nice to hear criticism but I'm prepared to take it. What I don't like is horrible, cheap and nasty insults being hurled at riders when they are having a hard time. They don't deliberately miss out on scoring points and there is always a reason for it."
Graham Drury tells the Workington fans to lay off the criticism

"I was told the track was under water at lunchtime and the weather forecast was poor. In fact, financially it was in our best interests to let the meeting go ahead. Also, I know we'd have been under-strength, but Glasgow had received a phone call to say their Swede Stefan Ekberg's plane had been diverted so he would've missed the meeting. It would've given us a better chance of overhauling the 22-point deficit from the first leg."
Dave Peet on the cancellation of Hull's clash with Glasgow on Wednesday

"I'm going up there as I'm pretty confident we'll do well. If we win we're back on top of the league. It's one of Matthew Wethers' favourite tracks, also on the plus side Kevin Doolan is back in the team instead of Adam Allott and, with all due respect to Adam, will perform better away from home."
Jonathon Chapman on King's Lynn's trip to Newcastle on Sunday

"It was a good win tonight. With a little bit more luck it could have been an even bigger win - a few points slipped away. But we have given ourselves every chance of a bonus point in the return at Ipswich. We need to start kicking in with bonus points if we are to make the play-offs. We have been winning matches at home but not taking any points on the road. "
Alun Rossiter on Swindon's win over Ipswich last night

"David completes 11 matches for us tonight against Sheffield Tigers and when he gets to 12 matches his average will increase to over six which could make it difficult for him to find a spot with another club. Robert's recovery from injury is already taking longer than I anticipated and I cannot be positive at this stage as to when he will become available to us. As for David, we haven't asked him the tricky question of what he wants to do but we may ask him to carry on for a time."
Edinburgh's John Campbell on the subject of re-introducing Robert Ksiezak in place of David McAllan

"Every point is important because we are looking for a top-eight finish. We know it isn't going to be easy because Newport include Neil Collins and Tony Atkin, who have strong Stoke connections and know this track inside out. But these are the fixtures we need to win and I'm pretty sure we will be too strong for the Wasps on Saturday."
Dave Tattum welcomes the Wasps to Loomer Road on Saturday
