I have been a speedway fan of Cradley Heathens since 1962, I I submit the following dream team.
Erik Gundersen
Erik was a one team man whose career was cruelly cut short by injury, never saw him get
passed when he made the gate - top rider.
Jan O Pedersen
Jan O was to my mind one of the best riders I ever saw coming from the back, again his career
was cut short by injury.
Bruce Penhall
Bruce undoubtably had it all charisma, skill, from the front, the back or teamriding.
Billy Hamill
Another American who had it all and had Cradley remained open I am sure he would have
collected more World Championships.
Greg Hancock
Again a top rider from the recent era who would grace any team, and certainly graced the
Cradley team.
Phil Collins
My first englishman in my team, he never achieved his true potential, but I would certainly
have him in any Cradley team of mine.
Alan Grahame
The ideal partner for Phil Collins, as a pair they were a great combination, unbeaten in his
World Final appearence.
There were so many riders I could have included, and I appologise for leaving them out.
