Dream Team : David Spain

David followed Ipswich from 1985 until 1991. He went to some meetings in 2002 but, in his own words, "it was not like the old days".

Doncaster
Castagna

Jeremy Doncaster
A loyal servant to the club and a great man to have in the sport.

John Cook
Always a great entertainer with his wheelies. U.S.A Champion in 1985 two World Final appearances in 1985 and 1987. A great loss to THE WITCHES when Cookie walked out in April 1986 because he looked to have a good season ahead of him. At the time he was the U.S.A Champion.

Armando Castagna
Arrived in March 1987 with two World Final appearances behind him. A lively and excitable Italian, he formed a strong partnership with Kai Niemi in his second season with THE WITCHES.

Tony Rickardsson
He had his first season in the British league in 1991 and reached his first ever World Final in SWEDEN. In his debut season he ended with a nine point average and went on to claim a rostrum place in the World Final.

Chris Louis
Chris began his Speedway career with Hackney in late 1988. Being the son of John ( TIGER ) Louis he moved from Hackney to Ipswich for the beginning of the 1989 season with Mark Loram and Alan Mogridge. Has had a great career with Ipswich winning the World under 21 Championship and being British Champion. Also a Grand Prix rider and riding in the old one off World Final.

Kai Niemi
During his career he had two spells at Foxhall Heath. A good heat leader with bags of experience under his belt but at times let the team down due to his commitments while racing in SWEDEN. He formed a strong and impressive partnership with Italian rider Armando Castagna in 1988.

Richard Knight
Rode for Ipswich in 1985 and 1986 and an England Internatonal rider. Started his career with Mildenhall at West Row in the late 1970's and was spotted by then Ipswich manager John Berry.
