Dream Team : Michael

Speedway fan from Tampere (Finland) where speedway is not hot anymore because they moved the track to edge of the world.

CollinsNiemi

Grigori Markatanov
Probably the first time I saw speedway. Don't remember nothing but the name: Grigori Markatanov. Never saw the man or his name ever since. But this Soviet rider was there.

Peter Collins
Greatest picture ever. Peter Collins and Wembley stadion. It was late 70's when I saw it. Whole sport in one picture.

Heimo Kaikko
My speedway fan era started when I saw this picture in local newspaper. Heimo Kaikko and local star Lehtonen side by side in curve. I saw those riders later many times in action.

Kai Niemi
Shiny star from cold, dark winter of Finland. Wimbledon rider. Thanks to him I loved FC Dons as well. Where are those teams nowadays?

Hans Nielsen
1979. Local track in Tampere. Team Denmark with Olsen and Gundersen. They drove. But this man, Curly Hans, did not. He flew.

Ivan Mauger
Ivan the great. There was a chance and I saw this flaming legend. Mid 80's. He lent bike from Kai Niemi and I was there and saw the race.

Juha Moksunen
Local gun who made us believe there can be a World Champion from our own neighbourhood someday. It was all before the tractors came...
