Defunct Speedways Supporters Club

Nigel Jowett is the driving force behind a new supporters club aimed at reviving defunct speedway tracks. Nigel explains:

The defunct track supporters club is being set up to raise funds to look for stadiums or land to be able to reopen speedway tracks that have closed down. Membership is open to both UK and overseas supporters and it is not only for supporters of tracks that have closed, it is for supporters of all tracks that would like to see more tracks re-open.

I already have three or four areas in mind to start looking, but don’t want to say which ones at the moment.

UK members can join by either sending a sae envelope to:

Nigel Jowett
32 Grosvenor Road
Harrogate
North Yorkshire
HG1 4EG

or by going to my website at http://patrioticgifts4u.co.uk and looking in the categories for defunct supporters club.

Overseas members can join on the website.

Membership runs from April to the end of March so if you join now your next membership fees will be due in April 2013 and we need as many members as we can get to make this work and get more tracks open.

What you get as a member in the first year is a membership card, news letter sent out 4 times a year (the first one sent out march 2012) and there will be 20 prize draws every 3 months with the winners getting either a mug or a race jacket card cd (10 of each as prizes).
